The Somaiya School being student- centric, students are actively involved in activities and decisions. They are a part of the decision making. It is also a way of introducing concepts learnt in Political Science such as democracy, elections, governance etc.

Elections are held in a democratic way at the beginning of the academic year in a true election manner and fervour. It is a common sight to see students campaigning for their friends and also promoting themselves for various positions of the Student Council. Students across the School vote and elect suitable candidates for the posts of Head Boy, Head Girl, House captains and sports captains. The students hold these positions with a sense of pride and responsibility.
