Launched in 2017, Maverick is more than just a school magazine. It is a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the independent spirit that defines The Somaiya School.
A collaborative effort between students, educators, and parents, Maverick offers a platform where voices find expression – through essays, stories, poetry, artwork, interviews, and reflective pieces. Each edition captures the vibrancy of school life, the questions our learners are exploring, and the diverse perspectives that shape our community.
The magazine draws its name from the idea of a “Maverick” – someone who thinks differently, questions the ordinary, and forges his/her own path. In honouring this mindset, Maverick reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing original thinkers, empathetic communicators, and thoughtful citizens.
With every issue, we aim to chronicle not just events and milestones, but the heartbeat of our school – where every child is heard, every idea is welcomed, and every voice matters.
