The Music Studio at The Somaiya School is a dynamic space where students immerse themselves in the joy of music while building foundational skills, discipline, and creativity. Rooted in the belief that music enriches every child’s development, our programme offers structured exposure to both Indian Classical and Western musical traditions.
Students receive formal instruction in Indian Classical vocal music and Tabla, learning traditional compositions, rhythm patterns (taals), and techniques that develop concentration, coordination, and a deep appreciation for India’s rich musical heritage.
Our Western Music curriculum introduces students to vocal harmonies, instrumental skills, and basic music theory. Students engage with global music genres and are encouraged to experiment with rhythm, melody, and performance techniques.
From classroom sessions to school-wide performances, the Music Studio plays a vital role in building confidence, enhancing auditory and creative skills, and nurturing a lifelong love for music. Whether discovering the ragas of Indian tradition or exploring global rhythms, students find in music a powerful means of self-expression and cultural connection.
